2010 - A Year of Racing in Review

Wow, what a year of running!

1) 12/31/2009: Resolution Run. 2010 started with the 2009 Running Room Resolution Run. It was -30 deg C but I had lots of fun running the loop twice. Thank you Michael for volunteering and cheering the runners on despite the -30 deg C weather! Time: I think I did about 7.5 k in 32 mins range.

2) 2/13/2010: Shell Deer Park Strides for Education (5k). My first 5k in Houston since 2005. It's so nice to have my first 5k of the year in Deer Park and to be surrounded by friends and coworkers. Time: 23:06. Age Group: 1st

3) 5/30/2010: Scotia Bank Calgary Half Marathon. I just love coming back to the pathway where I have so many fond memories of! It was a cold, slightly cloudy morning, but good weather for running. Time: 1:46:55. Personal Best for Half.

4) 6/12/2010: Corporate Track Meet. I am not much of a sprinter, but it was fun competing with my coworkers and help bring home the 2nd place for Shell. 3000m Time:

5) 7/5/2010: Freedom 5k Sugar Land. Boy, it's hot to race in July -even when the start time is 8am. Time: 23: 23. Age Group: 2nd

6) 9/11/2010: UNCF Walk For Education - 5k. I thought July was hot - but at 8:30am in the morning in September, with 95%+ humidity, 80 deg F felt like 90 deg F. Time: 24:30 ish. Overall Female: 1st place (overall 3rd...also want to put out that Michael paced me in this race)

7) 10/30/2010: Deer Park Gulf Coast Sports Challenge 5k. The Shell team brought home the gold! Same course as the 2/13 race, but much faster this time. Time: 22:05 ish. Personal Best for 5k

8) 11/25/2010: Sugarland Turkey Trot 5 miler. Nothing can top Food, Running and Family for Thanksgiving! It was a bit hot and humid, but I had a ton of fun seeing turkey hats and running with lots of fast runners. Time: 38:38. Age Group: 2nd. Personal Best for 5 miles (my first one ever)

9) 12/5/2010: LaPorte By the Bay Half. To date, Canmore Half is still my favorite, but this one is my favorite one in Texas. :) I am proud to say I got the opportunity to run over the Fred Hartman Bridge not only once, but TWICE! Time: 1:48:12. Not bad for going up the bridge against the head wind. Age Group: 3rd.

What a fun year of running! To top that, the Hill Sgt was able to run with me for more than 70% of it! :)
